All our lawyers began their careers in sophisticated commercial
litigation practices at some of the nation’s most prestigious law firms.
John Mills left his practice at
Foley & Lardner to form The Mills Firm, the
first appellate litigation boutique law firm in North Florida in 2002.
Shortly thereafter, Tracy Carlin (former partner at
Foley & Lardner) and
Rebecca Creed (former partner at
Smith Gambrell & Russell) joined the firm,
which became known as Mills & Carlin.
Later, Bryan Gowdy left
McGuire Woods to join the firm and upon Tracy
Carlin’s retirement, the firm changed its name to Mills & Creed. Most
recently, the firm added Jessie Harrell from
Foley & Lardner and changed its
name to Mills Creed & Gowdy.
The firm also participates in the
Florida Appellate Alliance, a statewide
network of Florida appellate firms that work together on specific matters to
match the resources of the appellate practice groups of even the largest
Florida and national commercial firms.
